Three Cores of the Christian Life
“Thou hast also given me the shield of thy Salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.” -Psalms 18:35 I just love this word picture. Christ is our shield, our foundation, we can’t expect to enjoy the protection and joy of life until we first recognize that we can’t do a thing on our own. Simple? Yes, but this seems to be one of our greatest struggles. Salvation is wholehearted trust in the work of Christ on the cross, and it’s key for every person. If you do nothing else, trust Him today and accept His free gift of Salvation! Second, but just as vital is then how He holds us with His hand and guides us. When we are saved, we admit that we can’t do anything to “earn” Salvation, but somehow, as Christians, we tend to think it’s most of Christ, but some of me.
